BHIA 6,5% Sodium Chloride Agar is a selective culture medium used for the differentiation of group D streptococci from other streptococci. Sodium chloride inhibit other streptococci. Dextrose and bromcresol purple indicator give an acid reaction and turn yellow with streptococci group D growth.

PRECAUTIONS
This medium is for IN VITRO diagnostic use only.


STORAGE
Store prepared media at 2-8º C protected from direct light. Medium must not be used if there are signs of contamination or dehydration or if the expiry date has passed.


PROCEDURE
Bring prepared medium at room temperature before inoculation.

  1. Inoculate with 2-3 colonies.
  2. Incubate at 35º C for 24 heures.
